The school chess tournament “Szachy na Giszu” for Katowice primary-school pupils is organised by the UKS Pałac Młodzieży club and the Szopienice-Giszowiec municipal culture house. The ChessArbiter page of the 1st edition gives the group for classes III–IV on 18 October 2025; the regulations of the 2nd edition give six rounds at ten minutes, free entry, at the culture house, Plac Pod Lipami 1, on 24 October 2026 for classes I–IV and 25 October 2026 for classes V–VIII.
