About this list

Ruda Śląska’s chess club, RKS Mat, trains at the ODK RSM Country culture centre on ul. Sztygarska in Bykowina, and teaches chess in several primary schools of the city. It marked its twentieth anniversary with a rapid tournament at primary school 23 in December 2025. ODK Country hosted the Rudzka Jesień open in November 2024; with its spring counterpart, Rudzka Wiosna, it forms a FIDE-rated weekend series that returned in November 2025.

The same room hosted a charity tournament played for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in January 2025. Juniors meet each spring at the tournament for the President’s Cup of Ruda Śląska on ul. Janasa 28, played in groups by age and now in its eleventh edition.
