Clubs and youth culture centre sections 9

Clubs around Katowice tend to live inside public institutions. Hetman GKS Katowice, which celebrated fifty years in 2025, trains in the Szopienice culture centre on ul. Hallera and at a second centre on ul. Markiefki, and UKS Pałac Młodzieży plays in room 204 of the Youth Palace on ul. Mikołowska, fielding teams in the first junior league and the Extraliga. The youth culture centres of Bytom and Chorzów run chess sections of their own.

Outside Katowice, MCKiS Jaworzno has trained in the chess room of the sports hall on ul. Grunwaldzka since 1991, Forteca in Czeladź holds tournaments in its own rooms, and RKS Mat in Ruda Śląska trains at ODK Country and in primary schools. TMS Roszada organises the Gliwice Children’s Day tournament, and Szach Mat in Zabrze has moved to ul. Niedziałkowskiego with open Friday evenings.
