Sosnowiec has no single chess home; instead its tournaments travel between neighbourhood rooms. The Open Culture Stop in Maczki, at ul. Krakowska 26, hosts the Four Seasons tournament season by season, and the Środula community hall on ul. Bolesława Prusa 53 has seen an Independence Day tournament, an October evening blitz and summer holiday rounds. The Juliusz seniors’ club on ul. Spadochroniarzy holds a pre-Christmas open and a spring tournament.
In July Fabryka Food on ul. Wojska Polskiego in Niwka turns into a playing room for Szachy na Niwce. The Zagłębie culture centre named after Jan Kiepura, on ul. Będzińska, staged a Children’s Day tournament in May 2026 and an autumn event in October, primary school 42 hosted the first open championships of the city, and the OMNIBUS education centre on ul. Lenartowicza gives its name to a winter open.
