Series whose games go to FIDE 34

Each series on this page has editions on the FIDE list of rated tournaments, so its games count towards an international rating. Long formats are well represented: the Czeladź winter festival plays nine rounds over four days at the turn of the year, the summer festival does the same in late July, and Forteca Chess Challenge weekends in the Forteca club rooms offer the chance of a category. The Karnówka Memorial in Tarnowskie Góry has reached its twentieth edition, and Rudzka Jesień and Rudzka Wiosna fill a weekend at ODK Country in Bykowina.

Shorter rated events make up the rest: the Gwarkowski Rapid in September, the Gliwice festival in December with opens named Orient Travel and Columbus, the Omnibus Chess Open in Sosnowiec in winter, the seasonal opens of the Grzybowice culture centre in Zabrze, the four-day central category tournament in Bytom in mid-February and, in Katowice, the city Grand Prix for children and the summer Youth Palace tournament, whose junior groups are rated as well.
